What Our Clients Are Saying

- Mckenzie L.

Where do I even begin with my journey at Phoenix Fitness and Dance? When I first walked in, my goal was simple: build confidence and find a new way to exercise. I had no idea I would walk away with so much more. I started on silks with Tracie. As a blind woman, I worried about whether I’d be able to access instruction—but every single instructor has been incredibly accommodating and supportive. Not long after starting silks, I tried Lyra, and I fell completely in love. It became my safe place. One of my favorite classes is Rachel’s Lyra choreography class. You learn a lot of transitions between moves, and she somehow manages to challenge us while keeping the space warm, welcoming, and fun. Then there’s performing—my absolute favorite part of aerial. Competing and preparing for showcases is thrilling, and Sarah always encourages me to reach higher and give more in every performance. Phoenix Fitness and Dance has truly changed my life. The studio has made me more confident not only in the air, but in my everyday life. It has also become a huge part of how I manage my mental health—because when you’re in the air, you can’t think about anything else. If you’re thinking, “I’m not strong enough,” “I’m not flexible enough,” or “I have no dance experience” I get it. When I started, I couldn’t touch my toes and I had almost no dance background...but trust me—you can learn it all. You can quite literally do it with your eyes closed.

As a guy coming into the sport, I was reticent about feeling like I belonged there. So much of the sport features women that the men can get lost in the algorithm. The moment I entered Phoenix Fitness and Dance, however, I realized this was a place that wanted me there. The instructors have been nothing but supportive in my journey and are all massively talented performers in their own right. They are happy to field your questions and give you plenty of chances to shine, whether it is at a competition or showcase. Phoenix, whether it is instructors or fellow students, want to see you succeed. I have gotten to try all the apparatuses (pole, lyra hoop, and silk) and never felt like I wasn't supposed to be there or that I was alone in learning (and struggling with) new things. The instructors care about you and want to see you fly high. If you want to come to try something new, find a new way of accessing your body's potential, or you want to perform, I doubt you will find a better place to start or grow than Phoenix.

I started my journey at Phoenix Fitness and Dance over a year ago, originally hoping to break through a personal barrier around sensual movement and my comfort with it. What I didn’t expect was to fall completely in love with aerial silks. I’ve been incredibly lucky to learn from my instructor, Tracie, whose constant encouragement has helped me build both strength and confidence. I truly don’t think I would have stuck with it without her steady support. As someone who has struggled with being seen and trusting myself, Phoenix Fitness and Dance has become a safe, welcoming place where I’ve been able to open up and grow. The community here is warm, uplifting, and genuinely invested in one another. Even on long, stressful days, I always leave the studio feeling better physically, mentally, and emotionally. I’m so grateful to be part of this space and to share it with such an amazing and talented group of people.

Amanda and Sarah are exceptional coaches who truly embody what it means to guide, motivate, and inspire. When I joined Phoenix at 50 with the goal of competing, they didn’t just hand me a plan — they met me exactly where I was, physically and mentally, and helped me believe in what I was capable of achieving. Their approach is both challenging and encouraging, pushing me to grow stronger while keeping me grounded in what’s realistic and sustainable. What really sets Phoenix apart is the community. It’s more than just a gym — it’s a place where everyone celebrates each other’s progress, no matter how big or small. The atmosphere is supportive, positive, and driven by a shared commitment to becoming the best version of ourselves. Being part of Phoenix has not only improved my fitness, but also my confidence and mindset in every area of life.

I’ve been attending Phoenix Fitness & Dance studio since October 2022. When I first heard about Phoenix Fitness & Dance studio, I got excited to visit, yet nervous as it was outside of my comfort zone. However, Jennifer P. helped me stay focused and feel comfortable in the pole intro class and made it fun and easy to follow for everyone. As a plus size gal, I thought it wasn’t possible, but eventually realized how strong and capable my body could be. I then started taking flexibility classes and pole level 1 classes with Amy. Amazing instructor, she encouraged me to try new tricks yet allowed me to do it at my own pace. After a few months, I participated in my first ever Phoenix Fitness & Dance studio showcase. Lovely experience and full of so much talent from the students and instructors!!! A year later, I did my first photoshoot in the studio and I was happy to meet that other side of me, feeling sexy yet strong! Thank you Sarah for creating an environment that embraced body positivity and is full of a welcoming energy! Thank you instructors for the encouragement that you give each one of the students during class, it means the world to us!

If you have ever been intimidated by exercise/athleticism/sport, Phoenix Fitness is THE place to challenge that idea. I always struggled with confidence in moving my body until I began taking classes here. Phoenix provides an atmosphere that is welcoming, fun, accommodating, and challenging in a way that is tailored to your personal journey. I've taken classes in every apparatus that they offer, and can't pick a favorite. Each instructor that I've worked with has given me new ways to approach improvement, fun challenges, and true excitement when they see me grasp a new trick. No matter your experience level, be it brand new or advanced, you will definitely find a spot here that works for what you need. Can't recommend giving it a go enough. My life has changed (and continues to!) because of Phoenix and their team!

I love all the apparatuses you can learn here at Phoenix so far. I've tried lyra, silks, sling, static/spin pole, fabric pole (basically sling + spin pole), and floor acrobatics. I'm focusing on lyra at the moment and I'm excited to check out an upcoming straps class from a visiting teacher. I've only been attending the studio for a few months, so I haven't participated in many events, but I'm looking forward to being in the group lyra performance in the showcase next month. The overall vibe is excellent. I really like all of my instructors. Everyone is generally quite kind and chill. It's a safe space to be a little weird and goof around 🙂 Special shoutout to the lyra choreography classes - I appreciate the chance to put together what I've learned to music so I can practice transitions and polish my moves.

I love taking classes here!! My favorite classes are the pole classes, especially the MetalCore-eo and Hardstyle classes. The instructors at Phoenix are incredibly knowledgeable and supportive, and I’ve learned so much from each of them. I've even had the opportunity to compete at PSO, which has been such an empowering experience. The atmosphere in the studio is always so welcoming. You can truly feel the warmth, encouragement, and sense of community from everyone around you. Through these classes at Phoenix, I have gained confidence, and discovered a strength and self-expression I didn’t know I had.

I came to Phoenix a year ago because I was interested in lyra, but ended up taking an Intro to Pole class with Tina. It was such a positive experience and she was such a great instructor that I ended up sticking with pole. I've never really participated in athletics before or stuck with any kind of sport, but the support and encouragement from the instructors and community at Phoenix have allowed me to grow so much. I was able to put together my first ever routine and compete for the first time last April. I now take pole, hoop, and silks and feel at home every time I'm in the studio. I've made great friends and am looking forward to what the next year brings!

- Susan C.

Phoenix Fitness and Dance is such an amazing studio. I have been coming here for approximately a year and every time I walk into the studio it feels like home. I have taken lyra and pole classes here. I love the variety of classes Phoenix offers and how all of the students are so friendly. I have participated in a showcase and several competitions through this studio and have had such great growth from it. The students and staff are so supportive. I've attended spin classes, low flow classes, metal choreography classes and had many private lessons with several instructors. Gina is amazing in teaching spin pole. I have had the opportunity to have privates with Tina, Amanda, Rocki and Sarah and their attention to my needs and details and their investment in helping me is so inspiring. Phoenix is a place where everyone is truly welcome. If you are looking for a studio, I highly recommend giving Phoenix a chance, you won't regret it.

I fell in love with pole dance and aerials in Winter of 2020. I had been back at the gym for 3 months and I wanted a new way to move my body in which I loved. I was already going to gold's gym so I decided to go upstairs one day and see what it was about. I get up there and the first person I talked to and met was Sarah. She has been there for me since the very beginning of my journey; set backs, competing, injuries, life issues, and now my son. Phoenix became a place for me to release stress, be around a supportive group, and exercise all in one! I love Phoenix, because it has seen me at my very best and my worst and the doors have always been open!
