Inclusivity & Community Standards

Phoenix Fitness & Dance welcomes all students — all genders, sexual orientations, races, religions, body types, and anyone with disabilities who has been cleared for physical activity by a medical professional.

We encourage you to share your pronouns with us and to correct us if we get them wrong.

Purchases, Memberships & Class Packs

  • All purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Memberships require a 6-month contract. After that term, members may shift to month-to-month but must provide 30 days’ notice to cancel.
  • Members may always increase their class level, but may not decrease their package during the contract without 30 days’ written notice.
  • Class packs expire 3 months from purchase.

Cancellations, Late Arrivals & No-Shows

  • Cancellations must be made via the app at least 12 hours before class.
  • Emails/messages are not accepted as cancellations.
  • Late cancellations or no-shows will result in the loss of a class credit unless you notify us at least 2 hours before class that you prefer to pay a $10 late fee instead.
  • If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, you cannot participate (for safety).
  • Workshops, special guests, and private parties are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged or rescheduled.
  • Please double-check your bookings — credits cannot be transferred or refunded.

Age Requirements

  • Regular group classes are for ages 18+.
  • We offer private/semi-private lessons for younger students.
  • The Youth Silks Program is for ages 10–17 and is separate from adult classes.
  • Phoenix reserves the right to request identification to verify age.

What to Bring to Class

Students should bring:
  • Yoga mat
  • Microfiber cloth
  • Alcohol spray Any required class items (heels, kneepads, grip aids, etc.)

Most items are available for purchase in the lobby.

Borrowed mats must be thoroughly cleaned after class.

Equipment Cleaning Guidelines

  • Poles: Clean only with 70–90% rubbing alcohol and a microfiber cloth.
  • Mats, blocks, straps, and lyras: Clean with alcohol or disinfecting wipes.
  • Aerial fabrics: Do not apply any products — instructors handle fabric care.
Students should bring their own cleaning supplies or purchase them in the lobby.

Personal Belongings

  • Coats should be hung in the lobby.
  • Street shoes may be placed near the seating area.
  • Bags may be stored in the lobby or brought into the studio and placed along the sides, away from lighting and walkways.

Respect, Conduct & Studio Culture

Phoenix is a safe space. We expect:
  • Respect for instructors’ teaching styles and class flow.
  • Full attention during instruction.
  • No talking over instructors or performing skills requiring spotting without permission.
  • No teaching other students or disrupting class.
  • Socialization kept to designated breaks.
  • Socialization kept to designated breaks.

Harassment, disrespect, or behavior that makes others uncomfortable may result in removal from the studio.

Lotions, Oils & Jewelry

  • Do not apply lotions or oils the day of class.
  • Remove all metal rings, bracelets, watches (unless a soft fitness band), and large earrings.
  • Cover new body piercings as needed.

 

These precautions protect both students and equipment.

Liability Waivers

All students must complete and sign the liability waiver in Groovio before attending their first class. Students will not be permitted to participate until the waiver is submitted.

End-of-Class Equipment Care

  • Poles and lyras must be cleaned after use (lyras may use disinfecting wipes).
  • If you put a pole on spin, return it to static.
  • Removable pole pins must be placed in the cup during class and returned afterward.
  • Both instructor and student are responsible for proper equipment reset.

Class Levels & Safety

  • Students must have instructor approval to move up a level.
  • Please read class descriptions before booking.
  • If enrolled in a class above your level, instructors may adjust your participation or ask you to observe.
  • Levels ensure safety and maximize progress.

Private Lessons & Private Parties

Students must contact the studio before booking to confirm availability.

The scheduling system may show incorrect openings.

Private lessons and parties are non-refundable.

Registration & Guests

  • All students must register in advance.
  • Walk-ins are not permitted.
  • Guests are not allowed to watch classes.

Youth Program

Rules for Students
• We follow rules so we can learn safely and do cool skills.
• When the instructor is talking, we listen and stay off the equipment.
• We use only the equipment assigned for that day and never swing or climb without permission.
• We keep our hands and feet to ourselves, even with siblings or friends.
• We use kind words toward classmates, instructors, and ourselves.
• If something is confusing, we ask the instructor for help.
• We do not instruct or coach other students.
• We practice only the skills learned in today’s class unless given permission to do more.
• Electronics may be used only during designated times or with instructor approval to take
photos/videos of what we learned.
• If rules are not followed, students may be asked to sit out for safety.
Rules for Parents
• Please register your child only if they can follow instructions and safely participate.
• Parents may stay until warm-up is done, then we ask that you wait outside to reduce distractions.
• Parents may return for the last 15 minutes to record or take photos.
• Please focus photos/videos on your own child; crop or cover faces of other students before posting.
• The liability waiver includes a photo release. If you prefer to opt out, notify the instructor/owner and
cross out that section.
• Please do not coach or instruct your child during class.
• Ensure proper attire: form-fitting clothing, no jewelry, zippers, or sharp edges.
• Avoid big meals before class.
• Send your child with a water bottle.
• Provide cleaning supplies: 70%+ alcohol & microfiber cloth, or disinfecting wipes for lyra/silks.
• Youth passes are valid for 6 months, non-refundable and non-transferable.• Each child/teen must have their own Groovio login to book classes.
• Adult classes are for ages 18+; private lessons for minors depend on instructor availability.
